Conan’s shows have been sucking ever since he made the switch with Jay Leno. Or is Jay Leno getting better? Maybe it’s both but Conan’s improving again and so is the quality of selections of his musical guests. That’s not saying Leno’s doing bad cuz his jokes are more bearable.
Well, Paramore jammed out their hit track “Misery Business” from their latest album RIOT! on the NBC late night talkshow’s concluding event last night. Hayley’s vocals felt somewhat lacking on stage but it was hard to say with the confusing up and down toned lyrics of their song. Paramore is somewhat new to the spot light despite being in the market since 2002. Never really made it big with a few gigs here and there so I guess we could refer to them as budding young upcoming punk/pop rock band.
So woke up this morning to them playing on my radio alarm clock which is why I bothered to post it here. Ear drums felt shot. The orange/yellow/red-headed lead vocals Hayley just won’t stop screaming. But ain’t that what punk/emo rock groups are supposed to do?
Saw the music video coupla weeks back on YouTube saying something about a “Powered By Ramen” or something along those lines checkered up on the front page of the site. Not a whole lot to speak about for the video. Just the standard Emo/Punk stuff about some bitchy/slutty girl running amok in a high school setting. But wait. The girl in question isn’t from the band and what I thought was interesting is that Hayley (lead vocals) comes to the rescue of the cheerleaders and all the victims of the spiteful goth/emo/bitchy chick in the video. Usually in emo/punk videos, the featured band tries to rebel against all things. Here, it’s different.
Ran a quick searched on “paramore” on YouTube today and found out their label company was “Fueled By Ramen” and not “powered” hehe. Well here’s the official music video to the track they played at Conan’s October 8th, 2007 show and for all those Googly searchers, October 8 is also 10/08 or 10-08-2007.
